Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
