FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
